Review Pacific’s Evolving Strategic Plan
Building on two years of collective input, the latest draft of our strategic plan, is now available for review.
This version reflects discussions from the all-campus World Café sessions, project proposals, and the many ideas contributed by faculty, staff, and students across the university. It builds on the original themes and objectives in the previous version of the strategic plan, adding specific goals and tactics that will guide our work in the years to come.
This version does not yet include the recommendations of our seven reorganization committees, which will present their reports in the coming weeks. Those recommendations, along with feedback from you now, will be incorporated before the plan is next updated and shared with the Board of Trustees in December.
Employee input is critical in making sure we are all working to the same shared vision for the future of Pacific — an Opportunity University that pairs access and outcomes as we inspire the next generation of students to think, care, create, and pursue justice in the world.
As you review this plan, we encourage a focus on constructive, high-level feedback rather than redlining or wordsmithing. Consider these questions:
- Does this plan clearly reflect Pacific’s mission, values, and vision for the future?
- How well do you see our division or department’s work reflected or aligned in the goals and objectives laid out in the plan?
- What feels missing, unclear, or underrepresented from the plan?
- Are there goals or ideas that need stronger connections across divisions or functions?
- What opportunities, audiences, or challenges might we still need to address?
- Does the plan feel inspiring and actionable — something that helps us see our shared purpose and direction?
- How can this plan help us work together as one Pacific, strengthening collaboration rather than operating in silos?
Feedback can be shared in dialogue or emails with your department or division leadership or individually by Nov. 14.
All employees also are invited to take part in upcoming town hall sessions — Inside Pacific | A Series of Community Conversations — from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10 in Taylor Auditorium in Marsh Hall or from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 13, in the ITF Room 132 on the Hillsboro Campus. Both also are available online. Please register in advance for the Zoom link.
Five of our seven restructuring committees also will share their ideas and collect final feedback from employees on Nov. 5. There will be two online sessions: from noon to 2 p.m. and from 4 to 6 p.m. Register in advance to hear committee presentations and share your feedback.
