I am a Clinical Assistant Professor within the School of Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD). I help to create partnerships in the community for clinical placements, and place students in practicum placements as a part of Pacific’s Community-Based Clinical Model. I teach undergraduate, post-baccalaureate, and graduate students. My clinical background includes working in large healthcare systems in both acute care and outpatient settings. I worked mainly with adults, with a particular interest in voice disorders and gender-affirming voice and communication services. In 2025, I was awarded the 51³Ô¹Ï Diversity and Justice Award for my work and research with gender-affirming voice and communication. My research focuses on increasing student understanding of and access to gender-affirming voice and communication services and evaluating the effectiveness of clinical simulation for student learning.

Since joining the CSD team, I have developed an interest in how simulation helps support clinical education and am a strong advocate for our Clinical Simulation Program. Additionally, I find great satisfaction in working with students through academic and clinical advising to support their personal and professional development. I am an active volunteer with the Oregon Speech-Language-Hearing Association (OSHA) and the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). I was proud to receive the OSHA Outstanding Teaching and Research Award in 2024.

Outside of school and clinic, I enjoy spending time with my husband, son, and dog. I am an active member of the Kakou Crossfit community, and benefit from the physical and mental strength it brings. I love reading suspense novels, paddleboarding in the Summer, and exploring new places.
