Jana Childes is an assistant professor in the School of Communication Sciences and Disorders. She brings her extensive experience in medical speech-language pathology, where she specialized in services for pediatrics and adults in the areas of voice, speech, swallowing, and augmentative and alternative communication. Jana strives to infuse her classroom teaching with foundational knowledge and clinical application. Her research interests include identifying and addressing barriers to specialized voice, resonance, and swallowing services, as well as improving teaching practice in these areas. In her free time, Jana enjoys spending time with her family, walking her dog, cooking, and reading.
