- Know the location of the fire alarm pull stations and fire extinguishers
- Upon discovering a fire, pull the alarm immediately
- Evacuate the building following the posted evacuation route, assemble in a designated area and remain for an accounting of all persons known to have been inside
- Call 911 and then call CPS
- Remain calm and answer all questions
