Application for Degree
All degree candidates must submit an Application for Graduation through in order to have a degree or certificate conferred. A separate application is required for each degree or certificate, including separate applications in the case of joint degrees.
Graduation Application Deadlines
- To have a degree/certificate conferred in May, or to participate in May's Commencement ceremony, students must apply by January 15.
- To have a degree/certificate conferred in August, or to participate in August's Commencement ceremony the Application for Graduation must be submitted by May 15.
Commencement Ceremonies
Formal university-wide commencement ceremonies are held in Forest Grove in May and August. The MFA in Writing program holds a ceremony in Forest Grove in June.
Degree Conferral Dates
Degrees are conferred* on the following dates throughout the year:
- January 31
- March 31
- 3rd Saturday in May
- June 30
- 2nd Saturday in August
- August 31
- September 30
- November 30
*Degrees are posted to the student's transcript once the Registrar has verified that all requirements have been completed successfully. Students will receive their diploma(s) in the mail 6-8 weeks after degree conferral.
