This policy is designed to recognize that many students use first names other than their legal names to identify themselves. This policy makes official University use of preferred names for students in certain instances, while maintaining the official, legal name when required. Congruent with 51³Ô¹Ï’s commitment to creating a welcoming and inclusive campus environment, this policy aims to support the transgender and gender-neutral student populations, as well as students who prefer to be known by nicknames.
