Transfer students are those who are currently enrolled, or who were previously enrolled, in a professional Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program at an ACPE-accredited school or college of pharmacy. Transfer students must be in good standing at the institutions they are currently attending or have been in good standing at the time they withdrew from the program.
The School of Pharmacy will evaluate candidates who wish to transfer on a rolling, case-by-case basis. Transfer candidates will follow a similar application process to non-transfer candidates, with key distinctions as outlined below. To ensure adequate time for review of transfer credits, applications received by April 1 will be given the highest priority.
Required Documents
Applications will not be reviewed by the Admissions Committee until all the below documents have been received. The following documents are submitted to the School through the PharmCAS application portal:
- A completed pharmacy school application that includes the desired PharmD pathway (3-year or 5-year) and indicates the candidate is seeking to transfer from another ACPE-accredited institution
- A supplemental essay in PharmCAS that addresses the candidate’s reason for transferring will be required in addition to the standard essay
- At least two letters of recommendation
- One of the letters must be from a representative of the institution from which the candidate is transferring (e.g. faculty advisor or administrator) who can address whether the candidate is in good standing at that institution
- Official undergraduate transcripts and official transcript from current pharmacy program
