Declaring a minor in Social Equity & Social Change
- Current students interested in the SESC minor should connect with a SESC advisor as soon as possible and are encouraged to declare by the end of sophomore year or at 45 earned credits.
Social Equity & Social Change Requirements
Course Planning for Social Equity & Social Change
- Courses to complete in the first two years to complete a SESC minor in four years:
- One of the following Overview of Social Inequality courses
- ANTH 101 Introduction to Cultural Anthropology,CJLS 101 - Introduction to Law & Society,
- SOC 110 Apocalypse and Society, or
- SOC 150 Special Topics in Introductory Sociology
- Two (or more) courses from Frameworks of Change or Structural/Institutional/Cultural Considerations
- One of the following Overview of Social Inequality courses
- Course planning tips for SESC:
- No more than 3 courses in the minor can be from the same prefix (e.g., SOC, CJLS), so be sure to plan accordingly for a variety of subject prefixes.
- At least 8 credits in the minor must be upper-division (300 or 400-level).
- Although not required, it is recommended that students take the engaging in social change courses after completing the other requirements for the minor.
